We are looking for a Senior Software Quality Assurance Lead with deep IBM Mainframe expertise and strong domain knowledge in Securities Finance and Risk Management. The ideal candidate will lead QA strategy and execution for mission‑critical financial applications, ensuring high availability, data accuracy, and regulatory compliance. This role requires hands‑on leadership in testing, automation, defect management, and Agile delivery, along with the ability to partner closely with technology, business, and risk stakeholders to safeguard high‑impact enterprise platforms.
Due to the role requirements this job needs to be performed primarily in the office with some flex work opportunities available.
What you will be responsible for
As Senior Software Quality Assurance Lead you will be
• Defining, leading, and executing the end‑to‑end QA strategy for mission‑critical IBM Mainframe applications supporting Securities Finance and Risk Management initiatives.
• Ensuring high availability, data accuracy, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance of business‑critical financial platforms.
• Leading and mentoring SQA team members while establishing and enforcing enterprise QA standards and best practices.
• Creating, maintaining, and executing functional, integration, regression, system, and UAT test plans for Mainframe batch and online (CICS) applications.
• Designing comprehensive test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements, technical specifications, and integration dependencies.
• Driving and enhancing test automation strategies and frameworks across Mainframe and hybrid environments.
• Estimating QA efforts, identifying testing scope and risks, and supporting Agile sprint and release planning activities.
• Analyzing and communicating test results, quality metrics, and defect trends to stakeholders.
• Leading defect triage, prioritization, and root cause analysis, particularly for issues impacting financial exposure and risk controls.
• Coordinating test environments and test data required to validate securities finance workflows and risk calculations.
• Reviewing and improving QA processes, controls, and governance to enhance efficiency, auditability, and quality outcomes.
• Collaborating with Development, Product, Risk, and Operations teams throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle.

• Strong IBM Mainframe expertise with the ability to understand complex batch, CICS, and data‑driven applications
• Proven domain knowledge in Securities Finance and Risk Management, including exposure, collateral, and control‑driven workflows

• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to assess defects, risks, and release readiness
• Experience driving test automation and continuous testing in Agile environments

Education & Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance / Test Engineering roles, with increasing responsibility in enterprise environments.
• 7+ years of hands‑on Testing experience in IBM Mainframe, supporting batch and online (CICS) applications developed using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Strong understanding of Mainframe testing tools and utilities, including TSO/ISPF, SPUFI, File Manager, File Compare, and DB2 SQL.
• Demonstrated domain expertise in Securities Finance and Risk Management, including securities lending, collateral processing, exposure management, and control‑driven workflows.
• Experience supporting mission‑critical, regulated financial systems, with a focus on data accuracy, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring SQA resources and contributing to QA strategy, test automation, and Agile delivery models.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and writing automation code (where applicable to Mainframe or hybrid systems)
Additional requirements
The role requires strong experience working in a complex ecosystem of multiple mission‑critical IBM Mainframe and closely integrated downstream and upstream applications, where changes in one system can materially impact others. The candidate must demonstrate deep expertise in quality integration testing, ensuring end‑to‑end validation of data flows, business processes, and control points across Securities Finance and Risk Management platforms. Success in this environment demands disciplined testing practices, strong dependency awareness, and the ability to independently assess cross‑application risk, data integrity, and release readiness within a regulated financial services landscape.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $140,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
