Job Details: Job Description: The Stress Testing and Reliability Laboratory is looking for a dynamic, hands-on individual to join their environmental stress tool engineering team. The engineering team develops and maintains a fleet of equipment used to evaluate Intel's silicon and package technologies under simulated field use, including heat, humidity and temperature change. Our team is proud to ensure that the units undergoing stress testing receive the exact requirement in order to produce actionable data for process development and certification decisions. Drives technology development and enablement for both high volume manufacturing and future technology, provides process integration and equipment solutions, and performs feasibility studies to meet desired device specifications. Leads design and development of technically sophisticated manufacturing processes and/or repair reverse engineering including material selection, parameter optimization, equipment metrology, and system design to enable new product designs and functional requirements. Performs pathfinding activities in support of process and hardware development enabling manufacturing of innovative device architectures, and develops roadmaps for technologies enabling future roadmap. Recommends and implements modifications for operating equipment to improve production efficiency, manufacturing techniques, and optimizing production output for existing products. Partners with key equipment and materials suppliers to develop and implement enabling elements of the technology. Performs process technology feasibility studies through theoretical simulations and/or practical engineering methods. Remains updated on relevant industrial process and material manufacturing technical trends and develops view of inherent future Intel process technology needs to push industry forward by partnering with vendor ecosystem to build cost sensitive roadmap. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Characterization of equipment performance and response to excursions/issues - Continuous improvement of methods, specifications, and training - Development, analysis, and implementation of statistical process control - Translation of reliability stress analysis requirements into fixturing and development of new recipes - Interaction with tool vendors and field service engineers - Collaboration with internal operations, planning, and facilities team Note: This role requires regular onsite presence to fulfill essential job responsibilities. ​ Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research. Minimum Qualifications PhD Degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical engineering, Industrial engineering or related degree and 1+ years of relevant experience Master's Degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical engineering, Industrial engineering or related degree and 3+ years of relevant experience Relevant Experience must include the following: Reliability Stress Testing Equipment Development or Continuous Improvement of Equipment Preferred Qualifications Include: Understanding of one or more technical domains related to: Refrigeration systems Electrical measurements (voltage, current, resistance), power supplies (preferably DC-DC), and/or digital and analog circuits Heat transfer, including convection and conduction, and heat management approaches in semiconductor device hardware Knowledge of socket/connector reliability and failure modes/mechanisms as well as PCB layout and design Additional Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated strength in technical and analytical problem solving, especially using structured methodology (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc) Knowledge of design of experiments, measurement capability analysis, screening experiments, statistical data analysis, and statistical process control Knowledge of equipment calibration and characterization, including thermal profiling Experience with environmental stress tool controllers and recipe development Ability to code in LabView and/or SQL languages Knowledge of capital equipment design, construction, and installation processes Knowledge of equipment repair and safety procedures (e.g. lock-out tag-out) Job Type: Experienced Hire Shift: Shift 1 (United States of America) Primary Location: US, Arizona, Phoenix Additional Locations: Business group: Intel Foundry strives to make every facet of semiconductor manufacturing state-of-the-art while delighting our customers -- from delivering cutting-edge silicon process and packaging technology leadership for the AI era, enabling our customers to design leadership products, global manufacturing scale and supply chain, through the continuous yield improvements to advanced packaging all the way to final test and assembly. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
