To support this mission, Syngenta's Continuous Nurseries Team is seeking a QMS and Regulatory Compliance Lead in Salinas, Puerto Rico. This role will support the Puerto Rico Operations and TE teams, focusing on GM and GE Traits best practices, and will have additional responsibilities within the NA Quality team supporting the NA region. This role enables field compliance, quality assurance, and quality control practices for effective pipeline delivery.
Provide comprehensive quality system management and compliance support for R&D and operations activities, Quality Assurance, Document Management, Management of Change, Design control, and Design history and file maintenance. Maintain employee training matrix records and training material files. Work closely with the Regulatory team to ensure that thorough Regulated and Stewarded guidelines are followed in all activities.
Establish and maintain a high degree of compliance in accordance with USDA, EPA, and any other relevant authority in Puerto Rico, USA. This role will primarily focus on Puerto Rico activities with additional accountabilities for Regional Quality End-to-End activities.
Accountabilities:
• Standardize internal protocols and procedures as well as the training material.
• Implement quality management system and support ETS (Excellence Through Stewardship) best practices implementation.
• Ensure continuous compliance with high-level and internal protocols and procedures.
• Maintain PR employee training matrix records and training material files.
• First point of contact with internal and external regulators during audits in relation to plant material management.
• Perform and document internal audits, document non-conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Perform validations and/or job cycle analysis in critical internal processes or procedures to ensure adherence and compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting timelines.
• Provide general quality awareness, regulatory and stewardship training to all employees at the Puerto Rico site as required.
• Serve as a resource to help set up and maintain a strong quality management system to other CN sites as needed.
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Management, Engineering, Life Sciences).
• 5+ years of experience in quality management and regulatory compliance roles.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and Stewardship (e.g., ETS, ISO 9001, GMP, GLP).
• Strong understanding of relevant seed traits industry regulations and standards.
• Experience with audit processes and risk management.
