Qlik BI Engineer

We are hiring a Qlik BI engineer to join a BI project for the healthcare market and the 340B ecosystem. The main focus is on data solutions within this domain and building easy-to-use dashboards for monitoring, compliance, insights, and decision support.

You will partner closely with Product and other members of Engineering team to turn complex healthcare/340B data into clear product insights, metrics, reports and requirements.

Responsibilities:

Analyse functional and system requirements.

Design BI solutions aligned with best practices, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.

Develop and test Qlik Sense applications (on-prem and cloud) according to requirements.

Design and optimise data models (star schema, link tables, synthetic key avoidance), data loads, and transformations.

Build reusable data layers (QVD strategy), manage incremental loads, and optimise reload performance.

Implement security rules, section access, and governance standards.

Support data integration from databases, APIs, and other external sources.

Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system stability.

Collaborate with product, development, QA, and DevOps teams on requirements, releases, and quality standards.

Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.

Requirements:

Must have:

Strong development and administration experience with Qlik Sense (on-prem and cloud).

Solid knowledge of Qlik data modeling principles (associative model, joins, set analysis, variables, master items, filters, section access).

Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases, views, indexing, and query optimisation.

Experience with data integration and ETL concepts.

Understanding of performance tuning (data model optimisation, reload performance, app size management).

Experience with version control (Git, Bitbucket).

Working knowledge of Windows and Unix-like operating systems.

Understanding of REST APIs and basic networking concepts.

Nice to have:

Experience with Qlik mashups and extensions.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines for BI deployments.

Experience with AWS or other cloud environments.
