We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable QA/QC Technician to join our team. The QA/QC Technician is accountable for implementing, and enforcing the Quality Control Program established by Diversified Construction & Design to ensure all work complies with contract requirements, engineering specifications, applicable codes, and regulatory standards. This role will report to the QA/QC Supervisor over quality planning, inspections, documentation to help prevent defects rather than simply detect them. The QA/QC Technician plays a critical role in protecting project outcomes by reducing rework, supporting schedule reliability, and ensuring the final deliverable meets client expectations and audit requirements.
This role requires you to use a variety of soft skills, technical abilities and industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following)
Ensure Diversified Construction & Design (DCD) is compliant with Client Specifications and Construction Codes.
Collaborate with the QA/QC Supervisor, Project Manager, Client Representee and other relevant personnel to ensure there is Quality Control (QC) presence on all applicable phases of the project.
Effective communication skills and computer skills in order to collaborate with team members and employees to evaluate potential roadblocks and actively troubleshoot to resolve problems and issues in a timely manner.
Have general knowledge/understanding of all phases of the project from civil, structural, mechanical, and equipment.
Ability to read and understand Civil Drawings to check forms before pouring concrete.
Understand formwork and concrete applications.
Ability to read and understand Isometric drawings to check fit ups during fabrication, Weld mapping, MTR, Tracking, etc.
Be familiar with welding process and welding procedures to ensure the correct process and procedures are being used.
The ability to create, understand, and track Work packages, QC packages and Commissioning packages by areas, systems, and sub-systems developed from P&IDS and model reviews.
Have the ability and knowledge to work with subcontractors QC personnel (if applicable) on site to ensure compliance with Client Specifications and construction codes. If subcontractors do not have QC personnel we must be involved and document work being performed.
The ability to foresee, schedule and coordinate NDE activities with NDE subcontractors.
Understanding of inspection/testing equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues.
Oversee the quality of work performed by DCD employees and subcontractors throughout the project.
Promote our safety culture by enforcing safety procedures, including educating new employees on safety procedures, regulations, and expectations.
Knowledge of local, state and federal construction regulations.
Perform additional field and office duties, as needed to meet client expectations and business needs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Certification: Any certifications in Industrial Construction will be considered. Strong Civil background and understanding is preferred.
5+ years’ QA/QC experience on large industrial construction projects.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in fast-paced jobsite conditions.
