About Your Role
CMTS is seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector to support facilities, aviation, transportation, and public infrastructure capital improvement projects throughout the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) Region. This role will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting construction activities to help ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable codes.
The QA/QC Inspector will work closely with project managers, construction managers, contractors, consultants, engineers, and client representatives to support quality assurance and quality control activities throughout all phases of project delivery.
Projects may include airport terminal renovations, commercial and administrative facilities, utility infrastructure upgrades, transportation facilities, tenant improvements, vertical construction, transit facilities, and other public sector capital improvement initiatives.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GEDrequired
Associate’s Degree orBachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Building Sciences, or related field preferred

An equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant QA/QC inspection experience
What You’ll Need to Get the Job Done
5–12 years of QA/QC inspection or construction inspection experience supporting facilities, aviation, transportation, or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, quality assurance practices, and inspection procedures
• Experience inspecting architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety regulations, quality standards, and construction specifications
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, schedules, and technical documentation
• Experience documenting field observations, deficiencies, punch list items, and corrective action activities
• Strong understanding of construction safety requirements and OSHA regulations
• Ability to identify quality deficiencies, non-conforming work, and construction compliance concerns while supporting resolution efforts
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, engineers, consultants, and project stakeholders in active construction environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
• Experience utilizing digital inspection tools, project management software, and field reporting systems preferred
• Ability to travel throughout Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia project locations as required

• Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or related quality certification preferred

What You’ll Do
Perform QA/QC inspections for facilities, aviation, transportation, and infrastructure capital improvement projects to help ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards
• Conduct field inspections and site observations to monitor construction progress, workmanship quality, material installations, and contractor compliance
• Inspect architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as applicable to assigned projects
• Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation related to quality assurance and quality control activities
• Document inspection activities, field observations, deficiencies, punch list items, corrective actions, and non-conformance issues through written reports and digital reporting systems
• Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, contractors, consultants, engineers, and stakeholders to address quality concerns and support timely issue resolution
• Verify corrective actions and conduct follow-up inspections to confirm compliance with project requirements and approved standards
• Monitor contractor compliance with approved quality control plans, safety standards, and project procedures
• Participate in project meetings, coordination meetings, progress meetings, and safety meetings as required
• Assist with testing, commissioning, turnover, and project closeout activities including punch list verification and documentation review
• Maintain organized inspection records, photographs, reports, and quality documentation in accordance with project requirements
• Support quality assurance and quality control initiatives throughout all phases of project delivery
• Monitor project schedules and coordinate inspection activities to support construction sequencing and operational requirements
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence across project teams
