About Your Role
The QA/QC Inspector ensures site civil construction meets plans, specifications, and quality standards by performing daily inspections of earthwork, utilities, grading, and paving. They verify proper installation, testing, drainage, and ADA compliance, document findings, and track corrective actions. The role also involves coordinating with project teams, reviewing drawings and RFIs, monitoring safety, and supporting project closeout.

What You’ll Need to Get the Job Done
7–12 years of experience in construction inspection with a strong focus on site civil work.
Experience with public-sector, K-12, or municipal infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, paving, and civil construction practices.
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and survey data.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to civil construction.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
What Will Make You Stand Out
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Experience with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) or local municipal standards.
Familiarity with SWPPP requirements and stormwater compliance.
Experience working in active school environments or phased construction sites.
Proficiency with digital reporting tools and project management systems.
What You’ll Do
Perform daily field inspections of site civil work including earthwork, grading, stormwater systems, underground utilities, paving, and site improvements.
Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
Monitor contractor work for adherence to quality standards, tolerances, and proper installation methods.
Inspect subgrade preparation, compaction, and materials placement to ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations.
Verify installation and testing of underground utilities including water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and associated structures.
Review and confirm proper installation of erosion control and stormwater pollution prevention measures (SWPPP).
Verify site grading and drainage systems are installed to achieve proper flow and prevent ponding or flooding.
Inspect concrete paving, curbs, sidewalks, and asphalt installations for quality and compliance.
Verify ADA compliance including slopes, ramps, accessible routes, and transitions.
Coordinate with survey teams to confirm layout, elevations, and alignment of site features.
Review and interpret civil drawings, details, and specifications to support field verification.
Document daily inspection reports including work performed, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
Identify and report non-conforming work and track resolution through completion.
Coordinate with Project Managers, APMs, contractors, and testing agencies to resolve field issues.
Verify that required testing and inspections are performed and documented (compaction tests, concrete tests, etc.).
Participate in pre-installation meetings and coordinate with contractors on upcoming work activities.
Support punch list development and project closeout activities related to site civil scope.
Monitor site safety practices related to excavation, trenching, and heavy equipment operations.
Assist in reviewing RFIs and field changes impacting site civil work.
