Now Book It is seeking a talented and passionate Mid-Senior Level QA Automation Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, automated test suites to ensure the quality and reliability of our platform services, APIs, microservices, infrastructure components, and front-end applications. You're not just executing tests; you are building the automated systems that enable our continuous delivery pipeline. The ideal candidate possesses strong scripting skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to leverage AI-powered tools to revolutionize our QA processes. This position will play a key role in reducing our reliance on manual testing and improving overall software quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using a variety of frameworks and tools, including Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar
• Implement AI-powered testing techniques, such as self-healing tests, automated test case generation, and anomaly detection, to optimize test efficiency and coverage
• Automate testing for APIs, microservices, and infrastructure components, ensuring the stability and performance of our backend systems
• Automate testing of front-end applications, focusing on user experience, accessibility, and responsiveness
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other engineers to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, reduce test execution time, and enhance overall testing efficiency
• Troubleshoot and debug automated tests, identifying and resolving underlying issues
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for automated test suites and testing procedures
• Stay current with the latest trends in test automation and AI-powered testing tools
• Pragmatically perform manual testing when needed

What You'll Bring

Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or QA Automation Engineer
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, JavaScript, bash or others)
• Demonstrated experience with Playwright and/or other web automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress)
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with version control systems (Git), defect tracking systems (JIRA), and test management tools
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and experience writing test data
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus
• Experience with Kubernetes and microservices architecture is a plus

Highly Regarded:

• Experience with AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience with performance testing and load testing
