As we continue to grow our capabilities, we are seeking a bright and motivated Purchaser to join our NZ Operations team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of our purchasing function and further develop your career. We’re looking for an experienced Purchaser who is ready for their next challenge and committed to ensuring our customers experience the same Trimax quality behind the scenes as they do in the field.
Your Role
As Purchasing Team Leader, you will take ownership of supplier data management, ordering, and expediting components from a selected group of regional suppliers supporting our NZ manufacturing plant.
This role will be responsible for stock level management, forecasting, supplier engagement, and analysis of freight costs and customer demand. You will play a key role in ensuring material availability aligns with production requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
A solid understanding of manufacturing and how purchasing integrates into the wider supply chain will be essential. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the challenge that comes with supporting a growing operation. Working with a strong national supplier base, you will build and maintain effective relationships, ensuring suppliers have accurate information and forecasts to consistently deliver the required service levels and quality standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
Have proven purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and experience planning the procurement of components and raw materials
Be competent using ERP systems (experience with Dynamics 365 F&O is advantageous) and confident managing supplier data
Be a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced office environment
Take a proactive, hands-on approach and enjoy driving outcomes
Have strong systems capability and excellent attention to detail
A genuine interest in Purchasing and logistics
A positive, can-do attitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Excel and confidence working with business systems
Excellent organisational and time management skills
A high level of attention to detail
The ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
