The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for procuring equipment and services requested by internal customers within the Properties and Studio Development department. This role involves preparing, verifying and monitoring purchase requests, selecting the most effective sourcing methods (approved or new suppliers, tenders or RFPs, cost comparison) and developing appropriate purchasing strategies whilst understanding and executing purchase priorities.
Key Responsibilities
• Communicate with prospective suppliers, negotiating purchasing terms, monitoring delivery schedules and ensuring quality standards are met.
• Coordinate the collection and assessment of requirements when preparing tenders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation related to tenders, vendors and fiscal obligations.
• Support contract negotiation and preparation processes.
• Facilitate the invoice approval process.
• Assist in managing warranty claims, returns and supplier-related issues.
• Work collaboratively with the Purchasing Business Controller on supplier performance evaluation and management.
• Ensure compliance with the company's purchasing and budgetary policies.
• Recommend process automation opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• 3-5 years' experience in equipment and services procurement.
• A higher education diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Solid understanding of modern procurement processes and systems, including ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics Nav, Axapta, or SAP.
• Familiarity with risk control and compliance processes in purchasing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
• Proven interpersonal and teamwork capabilities, with the ability to work independently and take responsibility for your work.
• Willingness to travel to meet with suppliers when required.
• High level of integrity and professional responsibility.
