The Purchasing Officer is responsible for procuring technology products, services, and licensing required to support CT’s operational and strategic goals. This role manages supplier relationships, maintains compliance with licensing and procurement standards, and ensures effective sourcing across hardware, software, cloud platforms, and 3rd party professional services. The Purchasing Officer works closely with technical, finance, sales and project teams to ensure timely and cost‑effective purchasing that aligns with business needs and industry best practices.
Requirements:
What You’ll Do
• Source and procure IT hardware (e.g., laptops, servers, peripherals), software, cloud solutions, and IT related services.
• Manage purchase orders, quotes, and procurement workflows using company systems and ITIL aligned processes.
• Ensure software licensing compliance across vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, security platforms).
• Coordinate with internal teams to understand technology requirements and delivery timelines.
• Manage tickets on the ConnectWise Orders board.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with IT vendors, distributors, and service providers.
• Manage renewals for software licensing, cloud subscriptions, and managed services agreements.
• Evaluate supplier performance, pricing models, warranties, and service level commitments.
• Manage orders and communicate delivery timelines to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation, including warranties, serial numbers, and licence keys.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with procurement, security, and data governance standards.
• Maintain audit ready documentation, particularly for software compliance.
• Contribute to process improvements across IT procurement, asset management, and vendor performance tracking.
What You’ll Bring
• Experience in IT procurement, purchasing, sales support or IT asset management.
• Strong understanding of IT hardware, software licensing models, cloud subscriptions, and vendor ecosystems.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Solid negotiation and contract handling capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft CSP, VMware, security platforms, or enterprise software licensing.
• Familiarity with ITIL, ISO standards, or asset management frameworks.
• Experience in a managed services, MSP, or technology reseller environment.
• Tech savvy with a proactive approach to solving procurement challenges.
• Strong relationship builder with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt in fast paced environments and manage competing priorities.
• Integrity and commitment to ethical, compliant purchasing practices.
