THE COMPANY
Modern Elevator Innovations (“MEII”) designs and manufactures custom elevator systems. They handle the full process—from engineering and fabricating components like cabs and entrances, to coordinating with architects and contractors. Their parent company, ATTA Elevators, operate their installation branches to manage seamless installations of the manufactured units.
This vertically integrated tandem of MEII/ATTA strives to deliver high-quality, efficient, and tailored elevator solutions across North America.
THE POSITION
MEII/ATTA Elevators is seeking a qualified individual to join our team located at the Burlington production facility. This position will report directly to the Controller - Finance & Production and will have three supervisors reporting to them from across the production floor. The Purchasing & Procurement Specialist’s primary responsibility will be to proactively engage with assigned suppliers to ensure that supplier capabilities and products meet the current and future requirements of the organization. They will be the issuer of RFQs and build relationships with MEII’s valued suppliers.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Work with team members across all departments to seek out, evaluate and execute dual sourcing options and place outsourcing activities where appropriate,
Work closely with production planning to ensure material availability,
Negotiate and the implement supplier agreements, including Non- Disclosure Agreements, Statements of Work, Long-term Agreements, and general Terms & Conditions
Staying abreast of long-lead time orders, maintaining a communication loop with the supplier and internal team to strive for seamless delivery of materials into the production stream,
Publish a rolling timeline of project material requirements, identifying and escalating any at risk deliveries,
Track open orders, confirm delivery dates, and follow up on late shipments.
Assist Accounting with invoice discrepancies, credits, and vendor setup,
Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, and pricing files,
Respond quickly to deliver production delays, equipment breakdowns, or staffing shortages.
Identify bottlenecks and propose process improvements within the purchasing cycle,
Partner with Engineering and Production to ensure successful ETO project execution.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on leadership skills, capable of navigating the challenges of modern logistics and supply chain dynamics within a time-sensitive delivery schedule. Other requirements for the position include:
University Degree/College Diploma in Business, Operations or Material Management/ Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience,
3 years+ of manufacturing experience in any of the following industries: Industrial Machinery and Equipment, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Devices, or similar.
Solid understanding of ERP/MRP and production planning principles,
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project,
Flexible and agile in attitude is a must, while still maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures,
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills,
Excellent communication and negotiating skills,
Effectively manage multiple competing priorities

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Competitive salary: $70,000 – $85,000 depending on experience.
