The Punch List & Support Operations Superintendent is responsible for managing a small, highly flexible crew focused on completing final-phase project work, supporting field operations, maintaining shop and yard productivity, and operating equipment as needed.
This role exists to capture work that typically gets missed, delayed, or inefficiently handled by core crews, ensuring projects are closed out efficiently and company resources remain productive at all times.
Core Responsibilities
1. Punch List Execution
- Complete punch list and closeout work across projects
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents
- Ensure timely, high-quality completion
2. Field Support Operations
- Support active crews with small scopes and rework
- Step in to keep projects moving
3. Shop & Yard Productivity
- Maintain shop and yard organization
- Complete internal improvement projects
4. Crew Leadership
- Lead a 2–3 person crew
- Assign daily and weekly work
- Maintain productivity and accountability
5. Scheduling & Work Planning
- Maintain a rolling 1–2 week work plan
- Identify gaps and opportunities
- Responsible for staying busy
6. Equipment Operation & Management
- Operate company equipment as needed to complete work scopes
- Oversee dedicated crew equipment
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and care of all equipment
7. Performance Expectations
- Reduce project closeout delays
- Increase punch list efficiency
- Maintain consistent crew utilization
- Improve shop/yard organization
- Positive feedback from PMs
8. Leadership Expectations
- Takes initiative
- Adapts to changing priorities
- Leads by example
- Willing and capable of running equipment when needed
