We’re on the hunt for a REAL Publican, someone who lives and breathes hospitality, leads from the front, and brings locals together by creating pub experiences they love.

In the heart of Goondiwindi, The Victoria Hotel is a regional icon seeking a legendary Publican to lead our team! Operating since the 1920s, "The Vic" is more than just a pub, it’s the soul of the community, where old-fashioned hospitality meets a modern Australian menu and a bustling atmosphere. We are looking for a community-focused leader with a commercial mindset who can drive performance across the bar, bistro, and gaming while maintaining our deep connection to the locals. If you’re ready to take the helm of a historic landmark and become a fixture in the Goondiwindi community, we want to hear from you!
A day in the life of a Publican:
• You know the locals by name, they reckon you’re one of their own, all while keeping a sharp eye on the P&L.
• You run the place like it’s your own modern-day home, keeping things safe, smooth, and compliant.
• You're the pillar of the local community and the driving force behind a high-performing team.
• You put out fires before anyone even notices there was smoke.
• You bring the vibe, the service, and the smiles – every shift, every day.
Inherent requirements:
• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
About you:
You already know if this is for you. You’ve got the experience, the presence, and the pride it takes to own a pub like it’s been yours forever. You're not just running a venue - you're living the Publican life.
• Hold current industry RSA and RSG/RCG qualifications as per state requirements
