Public Works – Skilled Laborer - Truck Driver
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Public Works
(Teamsters Local Union 205)
VALID CLASS "A" CDL REQUIRED

ROLE SUMMARY:
Public Works Skilled Laborer is a Laborer/Driver position and is responsible for the operation of a variety of construction and maintenance equipment and for performing manual labor activities as needed and/or required by the Public Works Department. Persons employed in this classification perform duties of a complex, diverse, and strenuous nature. Ability to undertake heavy physical labor such as shoveling asphalt or aggregate material, lifting up to 100 pounds of sacked materials, storm sewer installation asphalt installation, carpentry, masonry and equipment maintenance is required. This person also exercises a certain amount of independent judgment in the use of hand tools and equipment. Persons in this classification shall have the basic expertise to operate all Borough owned vehicles and equipment. Incumbents of positions in this series perform various manual labor tasks in support of the dig and back-fill excavation and level earth to grade; shore excavations; set and install repair signs; maintain grounds by pruning trees and shrubs, seeding lawns, etc.; perform snow removal and ice control duties; and perform related work as required.
