Job Description
We are Skytree
Skytree enables a transition to a world with cleaner Air for everyone. We do this by developing and deploying smart technology that captures atmospheric carbon dioxide, enabling its use or storage to combat climate change and aid society and businesses around the world.
Born out of the European Space Agency (ESA), we are a global team of highly talented scientists, engineers and business professionals, supported by an experienced management team. Our working culture is based on a dynamic and smart approach to business with an open and understanding attitude to others and a desire to expand the boundaries of what is possible.
Your role
Let’s give you some context on the team you’ll become part of first. Namely the Business Finance Team. This particular team bridges technical innovation and commercial execution by owning the financing pathway for Skytree’s growth. We secure Corporate Funding to scale the organization and Project Finance to deploy Skyparks. Business Finance is where “this can work” becomes “this will get financed and deployed”.
Within this team, your role as Public Funding and Policy Associate, is focused on helping turn ambitious projects into financeable, well-supported deployments. You sit at the intersection of external stakeholders and internal teams, helping Skytree navigate complex environments with clear communication, structured processes, and strong follow-through.
This is a role for someone who gets energy from people and momentum. You will engage with government stakeholders, partners, and financiers, and you will work closely with teams across Commercial, Solutions, PMO, and Executive Management. Some days you are shaping a crisp narrative that makes complex technology easy to understand. Other days you are in stakeholder meetings building trust, aligning interests, and moving decisions forward or you perform AI supported search for relevant subsidy and grant programs.
This is not a back-office role. It is a front-facing, high-ownership position in a young team where you can grow fast, learn fast, and have real impact on projects that matter.
You’ll make an impact by
Working on several pillars in parallel, as displayed below. Keep inn mind that your responsibilities might grow over time. In other words, those pillars are illustrative and provide direction.
1. Incentive development and policy engagement
• Identify incentive pathways that unlock financeable DAC deployments, turning stakeholder input into concrete proposals and clear next steps. You do not just track policy, you help improve it.
• Support the stakeholder workstream that secures the practical conditions for bankable deployment, including enabling public funding pathways and partner alignment.
• Build trusted relationships with key public stakeholders and partners, and maintain a consistent engagement cadence that moves decisions forward.
• Represent Skytree in meetings and consultations, clearly articulating what is needed to progress projects.
2. Strategic Proposals & Narrative Building
• Write and refine high-quality grant and subsidy proposals and materials used in external processes and stakeholder engagement.
• Translate technical and financial inputs into crisp, persuasive narratives that decision-makers can act on.
3. Business Finance operations and capital provider relationship support
• Pipeline & Process Control: You maintain the central overview of opportunities, timelines, stakeholders, and next actions. You ensure nothing slips through the cracks and priorities remain clear.
• Capital Provider Enablement: You support the operational cadence with banks and financiers. By tracking touchpoints, materials, and follow-ups, you help the team run a consistent and professional external process that builds trust.
4. Cross-functional agility
• Work smoothly across Commercial, Solutions, PMO, and Executive Management, keeping everyone aligned on the critical path and next decisions.
