Job Information
The Concessions Attendant is responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous operation of the concession stands at Lowe Park and Marion Pool. This position involves food and beverage preparation, cash handling, customer service, and maintaining cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Must be a minimum of 15 years of age.
Current CPR and First Aid desired.
Previous experience in concession-type of work or money handling desired.
Basic math skills and the ability to accurately handle cash transactions.
Become knowledgeable in the use of cash register.
Become knowledgeable in fees and charges of concession items.
Become knowledgeable in concession units (grill, popcorn popper, warmer, etc.).
Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and consistent reliability in all tasks and interactions.
Duties
Provide courteous, professional customer service to patrons at all times.
Operate cash register accurately, including capturing every sale, handling cash and making correct change.
Prepare, serve, and sell food and beverage items in accordance with established procedures and food safety standards.
Upsell additional or related concession items in a courteous and non-pressured manner to optimize sales.
Maintain cleanliness of concession areas, including counters, equipment, floors, and storage areas.
Stock and restock concession items, supplies and inventory as needed, taking special precautions to keep items out of direct light and extreme heat.
Monitor and track inventory levels of concession items and report any shortages to the Concession Manager.
Immediately report any damaged or spoiled stock to the Concessions Manager to review and record. Do not discard any stock unless permission has been granted by Concessions Manager.
Check concessions equipment daily - refrigerator, freezer, beverage coolers, popcorn popper, and any other mechanized units to verify they are in proper working order. If any machines break down, the Concessions Manager is notified immediately.
Keep a daily list of needed concessions supplies for inventory orders.
Clean concessions stand, including but not limited to dishes, putting away meat/items to be reused and cleaning up trash on grounds before leaving work.
Enforce general rules and refer any complaints to the Concessions Manager.
Maintain a professional and safe work environment by ensuring concession areas are restricted to authorized staff and free from unauthorized loitering of non-working individuals during operating hours.
Attend all in-services or meetings called by Manager or Recreation Superintendent.
Other duties as assigned.
The employee in this position must frequently lift, push, pull, climb, turn, reel, crouch, crawl, twist, stand, walk, sit, hear, and see. All physical demands such as hearing and smell may occasionally be used for safety reasons. Must have the ability to perform job responsibilities in all climatic conditions, etc.
