Ackerman SFC Manager on Duty
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction and supervision of the Facility Manager and/or Asst. Facility Manager, the PT Manager on Duty is responsible for managing overall facility operations in the absence of the Facility Manager and Assistant Facility Manager. Primary responsibilities include overall building safety, security, and cleanliness, reviewing the daily building schedule to ensure all programs and rentals are ready for patrons, including room set up, as well as collecting payment and ensuring quality customer service is provided to all renters, members, and visitors. Additional duties include but are not limited to, overseeing facility staff and emergency situations, addressing equipment malfunction or breakdown, completing necessary reports, and informing program participants of class cancellations or changes. This position requires strong leadership skills and includes frequent interaction with the public and park district staff to promote programs and services, perform registration transactions, reserve rooms, and assist with special projects for management staff. This position will be cross trained to work the front desk and may obtain additional hours by filling front desk/guest services shifts throughout the week based on availability and need and possibly assisting at other facilities as well. This is an at-will position.
HOURS
Weekend shifts between operating hours of 5am-10pm, Weekday shifts between the operating hours of 5:00pm-11:00pm
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
The ideal candidate will be mature and have strong leadership skills, an outgoing and friendly personality, and be very dependable.
High School graduate or equivalent required with some college preferred.
Two years of supervisory/management experience or more is highly desired.
Strong people and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public is essential.
Proficient organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective problem-solving skills with the capacity to act calmly and efficiently under pressure or in difficult situations.
Solid computer and keyboard skills required with an aptitude for learning a multi-layered recreation software application.
Strong general math skills with cash handling experience highly desired.
The successful candidate must be able to project a professional appearance and assert their authority when needed.
Must be CPR/AED certified or obtain within 3 months of hire (GEPD will provide this training when needed).
