Primary Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments
Diagnose and treat mental health disorders
Prescribe medications and other treatments as necessary
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Document patient care in electronic medical records and ensure compliance with regulations and standards
Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Monitors compliance with accreditation standards/DHMHA, CARF regulations and assists with both internal and external reviews.
Accurately reflects services provided to ensure monthly reports and documentation for DCS are submitted.
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in Psychiatric Nursing
Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
Current Indiana State License
An unrestricted DEA License
Experience in a clinical psychiatric setting
No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP)
Professional liability insurance – with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
Ability to assess and coordinate treatment needs for complex family systems
Experience with a diverse patient population
