Position Summary
We are seeking a Psychiatric Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight for psychiatric services. This role delivers direct patient care, mentors providers, ensures clinical excellence, and supports a multidisciplinary care team. The position is central to improving patient outcomes, maintaining regulatory compliance, and advancing organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Supervision
Lead psychiatric services across all clinics, serving as a clinical resource and mentor.
Develop, implement, and maintain psychiatric policies, protocols, and best practices.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth.
Participate in leadership meetings and strategic projects to align psychiatric care with organizational goals.
Promote team morale, accountability, and a culture of inclusion and collaboration.
Patient Care
Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients receiving care.
Prescribe and monitor MAT medications in compliance with regulations.
Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and peer support teams to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
Evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust care plans as needed.
Quality Improvement & Collaboration
Monitor provider performance and patient outcomes, leading quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, documentation standards, and ethical guidelines.
Contribute to the development of efficient, patient-centered clinical workflows.
Education & Professional Development
Stay current with clinical research, treatment guidelines, and best practices.
Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and development opportunities for providers.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
MD or DO with active, unrestricted license in Colorado/NM or advanced practice degree (APRN, PA, or equivalent) with active, unrestricted license
DEA registration required
Board certification in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine preferred
Experience & Skills
7+ years of clinical experience in psychiatry or addiction medicine
Leadership or supervisory experience in healthcare preferred
Strong clinical judgment, communication, mentorship, and organizational skills
Experience in in-person and virtual care; interventional psychiatry preferred

Schedule & Compensation
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.), including one administrative day
Primarily telehealth, with occasional in-clinic responsibilities
Compensation:
$135,000 – $180,000 annually, based on experience and equity
