Location: Base Metal Refineries, Rustenburg 
Investigation support and emergency protection duties will be part of the activities of this role Personal risk is a factor in the role due to Bullion / Cash transport duties, (if applicable), criminal investigations, armed response. VIP escorts and Counter Industrial Action situations.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Investigate crime and the transgression of standards and procedures
• Patrol and inspect all company property within delegated area of responsibility
• Ensure that all CIA procedures are understood and drills attended
• Good employee Public Relations understanding of security standards
• Drive security vehicles effectively and safely
• Compile accurate security reports including incident and investigation reports
• Maintain applicable Safety, Regulations, Legislation, Codes of practice and standards appropriate to systems
• Support the protection of assets in high risk situations such as during Industrial action and emergencies
• Prepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customers
• Complete regular audits and observations required in the Unit
• Control shift rosters, to ensure the area is adequately resourced
• Encourage co-operation and teamwork as well as cooperation between team and clients
• Testify in criminal court/CCMA
• Relation with general public
• Perform CIA duties as required
• Identify risks and threats to the process/functions proactively
• Cultivate necessary information sources and gather relevant information
This role is at a C4 level reporting to the PS Superintendent / PS Senior Superintendent
For your application to be considered, please ensure that you submit your CV together with copies of your Matric certificate, PSIRA registration, firearm competency certificates, and a valid driver’s license.
• Grade 12 
• Registered with PSIRA Grade B with Armed response qualification (Response security)
• Applicable Dog Handler (DH4) Unit Standard qualifications, advantageous 
• Applicable firearm Unit Standard qualifications - Statement of Results for Handle and use for Business purpose Competency for handgun, shotgun and rifle
• Tactical Unit Standard Qualification - Statement of Results for Demonstrate Tactical proficiency and knowledge
• SAPS Firearm Competency for handgun, shotgun and rifle
• Valid driver's license code B
Experience
• Minimum 4 years' experience in Security or equivalent environment 
• 2 years' experience in supervisory position
• Conducting investigations and preparing reports will be an added advantage
• Experience in installation, configuring & maintenance of turnstiles, metal detectors and walk-through metal detectors, seismic systems, key control systems (i.e. CCTV surveillance, access control, Biometric/waver reader, alarm/early warning system, Goldfinger, Babylon) will be an added advantage
Knowledge and Skills
• Computer literacy
• Basic knowledge of applicable business reports writing
• Good Communications Skills
• Communications in English (spoken, written and reading)
• Handling and protecting the crime scene
• Crowd management/CIA
• Responding to violent crimes
• Handling various emergency situations
• Good working relations
Pre-Requisite
• Psychometric Assessment for firearms
• Firearm Competency
• No criminal record
• Pass polygraph test
• Must be able to do shift work, overtime and, if required, standby.
