Role Overview
BoxHouse is seeking a Prototype & Production Specialist to help bring R&D concepts to life. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a workshop environment, and is comfortable working with many different tools, materials, and processes. You’ll support projects from early ideation through testing and production helping maintain momentum, enabling rapid iteration, and contributing to high-quality execution.
What You’ll Do
Support R&D projects from early concept development through prototype builds, testing, and refinement
Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure consistent forward progress
Work hands-on with a wide variety of tools, materials, equipment, and fabrication methods
Prototype, test, refine, and iterate collaboratively with designers and engineers
Adapt quickly as project needs evolve month-to-month
Communicate task status, risks, and progress with the broader team
Maintain an organized, safe, and productive workspace
Contribute to a creative and solutions-oriented R&D culture
What We’re Looking For
Comfortable using a wide range of tools, equipment, and production techniques
Able to work efficiently without sacrificing quality or attention to detail
Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills
Strong collaborator with a proactive, “figure-it-out” mindset
Able to manage tasks independently and follow through reliably
Experience in production, prototyping, fabrication, or R&D environments (preferred but not required)
