AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) to join a patient-focused orthotics and prosthetics clinic in Gastonia, North Carolina. This role is responsible for evaluating patient mobility needs, designing prosthetic and orthotic devices, and supporting rehabilitation outcomes through customized care solutions.
The position works closely with physicians, therapists, and rehabilitation teams to improve patient mobility, independence, and overall quality of life. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality prosthetic and orthotic care.
Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to determine prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans
• Design, measure, fabricate, and fit prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices
• Perform device adjustments and modifications to ensure optimal comfort, alignment, and function
• Educate patients and caregivers on device use, care, and mobility training
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and rehabilitation specialists to coordinate care plans
• Monitor patient progress and perform follow-up visits to ensure proper device performance
• Stay current with advancements in prosthetic and orthotic technologies and clinical techniques
Requirements:
• Certification as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) through the American Board for Certification (ABC) or equivalent credential
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics or a related field
• Demonstrated experience evaluating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices
• Strong understanding of biomechanics, gait analysis, and rehabilitation principles
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
