AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking an Orthotics and Prosthetics Technician in Edison, NJ. This role supports the fabrication and maintenance of custom orthotic and prosthetic devices designed to improve patient mobility, comfort, and independence.
The technician will work closely with clinicians and patient care teams to prepare, assemble, and modify devices while maintaining high standards of quality and precision. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work in a clinical healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
• Fabricate, assemble, and modify orthotic and prosthetic devices based on clinician specifications
• Prepare molds, casts, and materials used in device fabrication
• Assist clinicians with device adjustments, repairs, and preparation for patient fittings
• Operate fabrication equipment and specialized tools used in orthotics and prosthetics labs
• Maintain detailed records related to fabrication processes and device specifications
• Ensure all devices meet safety, quality, and performance standards
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace
• Monitor and manage inventory of fabrication materials and components
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely delivery of patient devices
Requirements:
• Experience working in orthotics and prosthetics fabrication, medical device production, or a related technical field
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using specialized tools and fabrication equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications or fabrication instructions
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift and handle fabrication materials and equipment as needed
