Inside our state-of-the-art 2,000 sqm Clean Room, we apply a serial manufacturing mindset to co-design, integrate, assemble, and test platforms up to 600 kg. With a target output of 140 satellites per year, we drive scalable, efficient production—slashing costs and lead times to make satellites a sustainable global commodity.
To strengthen its Proposal & Contracts function, SPACE INDUSTRIES is seeking a Proposal Manager with proven experience in managing institutional tenders and commercial proposals within the space sector.
Position Overview
The Proposal Manager is responsible for the end-to-end development, coordination, and submission of technical and commercial proposals, managing the full proposal lifecycle from customer requirement analysis to final reviews and contract negotiation support.
The role requires close collaboration with Business Development, Engineering, Finance, Pricing, Risk, and Legal teams, ensuring that all proposals are technically sound, cost-effective, and fully compliant with customer and institutional requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Proposal Development & Management
• Develop detailed proposal documentation through thorough analysis of customer requirements, cost structures, and contractual constraints.
• Create customer-focused proposal narratives aligned with the proposed technical and programmatic solution.
• Manage and oversee the entire proposal development process, from draft request phase through final proposal reviews and submission.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Ensure that the final proposal package fully complies with customer technical, administrative, and contractual requirements.
• Refine and enhance proposal content (technical and programmatic) to ensure clarity, coherence, consistency, and a persuasive tone.
• Planning, Reviews & Governance
• Ensure adherence to internal proposal schedules and milestones.
• Efficiently manage internal review, approval, and validation processes.
• Cross-Functional Coordination
• Foster seamless collaboration across multiple departments, including engineering, pricing, finance, and risk assessment.
• Coordinate inputs from all stakeholders to optimize proposal quality, feasibility, and competitiveness.
• Costing & Estimation Support
• Establish and support accurate internal cost, effort, and schedule estimation processes.
• Ensure consistency between technical solutions, cost assumptions, and commercial positioning.
• Institutional & Competitive Bids
• Manage a diverse portfolio of proposals within the space industry.
• Proactively identify, monitor, and support institutional funding opportunities and competitive national and European tenders.
Requirements:
• Education
• Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical engineering disciplines.
• Experience
• More than 10 years of experience in proposal or bid management.
• Experience preferably gained in the aerospace or space sector.
• Technical & Professional Skills
• Solid knowledge of standard industry proposal and bid management processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high precision and quality standards.
• Soft Skills
• Proactive and results-oriented mindset.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple proposals simultaneously, including non-standard processes or outcomes.
• Proven capability to work effectively under tight schedules and in fast-paced environments.
Must-Have Qualifications
• Proven experience in bid preparation for Space sector.
• Familiarity with International tender submission procedures.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
