Gleim Publications is a 51-year-old, Gainesville, Florida-based company that provides quality, easy-to-use self-study exam prep materials for accountants and pilots in the United States and throughout the world. Our mission is to maximize knowledge transfer while minimizing our customers' time, frustration, and expenses. Ultimately, we help people help themselves succeed in their careers.
Join our exciting, fast-paced Content Production team and assist with writing, editing, and publishing the best review and study materials available. Our Content Production Department crafts the products that the rest of the departments support. Content Production is dedicated to providing our customers with the most up-to-date knowledge transfer systems. Many of our team members are students from the University of Florida, Santa Fe College, and Embry Riddle.
Proofreaders will proof Content materials, including books, audios, test prep software, and the company website, to ensure the content follows house style consistently, grammatically correct, and easy to understand.
Successful proofreaders have the opportunity to become reviewers. Reviewers are a higher level of proofreader; they proof the proofreader to ensure that there are no errors before going to print.
Proofreaders cross train in word processing and work in both areas when needed. Word Processors format, edit and produce documents using a proprietary word processing system based upon HTML/XML.
Requirements:
Must be able to work on-site in Gainesville, Florida.
Typing 40+ wpm.
Excellent English and grammar knowledge.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to work in a library environment.
Desirable, but Not Required
4-year degree, preferably in English or related field, or equivalent experience.
References required. Drug testing and background check will be conducted upon a job offer. Gleim is a drug and smoke free workplace.
