Job Description
Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Project Structural Engineer for a premier, mentorship-focused firm based in the Powder Springs / Atlanta, GA area.
This is a "high-ownership" opportunity within a firm known for its integrity and technical excellence. Unlike larger corporate firms where roles are siloed, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of a project—from initial concept and structural analysis to site inspections and final construction. With a portfolio spanning commercial, industrial, and federal building projects, this role is designed for an engineer who values technical rigor and wants to work closely with architects and contractors in a collaborative, flexible environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Structural Analysis & Design: Perform complex structural calculations and designs across diverse building types using RISA and other industry-standard software.
• Construction Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications in Revit, ensuring all designs meet high-quality standards.
• Project Coordination: Act as a key liaison between architects, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle to ensure seamless execution.
• Verification & Submittals: Review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy; ensure all materials and methods align with the engineering intent.
• Field Inspections: Conduct site visits and structural inspections to monitor progress, verify design compliance, and solve real-world construction challenges.
• Code Compliance: Maintain a deep working knowledge of and ensure adherence to IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and NDS building codes.
• Technical Communication: Draft clear, professional engineering reports and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
Education & Licensing
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is REQUIRED.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, though candidates actively pursuing their PE will be considered.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available).
Software & Technical Skills
• Design Tools: Proficiency in Revit, RISA, and Bluebeam is essential.
• Code Mastery: Working knowledge of national building codes (AISC, ACI, NDS, etc.).
• Detail Orientation: A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on precision and safety.
Soft Skills
• Collaborative Spirit: A team player who thrives in a mentorship-heavy environment.
• Client Presence: Confidence in client-facing settings and a professional demeanor.
• Integrity: A commitment to ethical engineering practices and quality excellence.
Benefits:
• Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance plans
• Life insurance coverage
• 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions
• Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays
• Opportunities for career growth and advancement
