In this position, the successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing business intelligence solutions and building a data lake that integrates sales, finance, HR, and operations data. The role is responsible for understanding key business issues, creating schema structures, and working with a variety of departments and stakeholders on projects. These projects will focus on creating sustainable and scalable data solutions that enable the Business Intelligence team to deliver reporting and analytics to the wider business.
BUSINESS/ DATA UNDERSTANDING
Interpret and analyze RBDC’s business requirements and translate them into clear functional and analytical specifications.
Apply these analytical specifications to large SQL tables in Snowflake, following best practices so the Business Intelligence team can use the tables to produce reports and insights.
Perform data cleansing, normalization, and structuring to ensure high-quality, reliable datasets and outputs for both recurring and ad hoc reporting.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COORDINATION
Serve as the primary driver & contact for internal RBDC IT teams
Work with IT teams to create sustainable & scalable data pipelines for the Business Intelligence team to utilize for reporting & insights; coordinate with IT to ensure data pipelines are long-standing with best practices.
Create ‘warning system’ for Business Intelligence core data schemas to flag data issues from upstream early
Work with IT teams on all technical developments, making clear requirements with future-thinking of all reporting impacts on Business Intelligence reporting suite.
Work with IT teams to create testing in Quality environments, allowing for Business Intelligence verification & select business stakeholder testing.
Understand & analyze RBDC business requirements into clear functional and analytical specifications.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Accurately assess resource requirements and compare them with resource availability and allocation.
Develop a detailed project plan to present to decision-makers, and subsequently use it to monitor and track progress.
Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
Provide regular project updates to various stakeholders regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress.
Measure project performance, clearly identifying the organization’s benefits from its project investments.
Report issues to management and escalate matters as necessary.
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties and vendors when required.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
3 years of experience in a data analysis–related role with a strong technical component
Experience working in a data-driven environment (e.g., consumer goods, retail, technology, finance, healthcare)
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, joining, aggregating, and validating data from relational databases or data warehouses
Hands-on experience with at least one programming language used for analysis or automation, preferably Python or R
Experience building interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau (or similar tools such as Power BI or Looker), including data modeling within the tool
Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data cleaning, and basic automation)
Understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema, dimensions/facts) and familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts
Understanding of Medallion architecture for data structures
Understanding of Git and GitHub, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams
Basic knowledge of statistical concepts (e.g., distributions, correlation, hypothesis testing, regression) and their application in business contexts
Analytical and Functional Skills
Ability to translate business questions into data requirements and convert analytical results into business insights
Proven ability to translate business problems and requirements into clear analytical questions, data specifications, and technical solutions
Comfortable working with multiple large datasets at different levels of aggregation, including data cleansing, transformation, and validation
Ability to synthesize findings into clear, concise recommendations that support business decisions
Strong understanding of data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness) and their impact on reporting and decision-making
Demonstrated experience improving or automating existing reports, dashboards, or analytical processes
Ability to maintain a strong attention to detail and accuracy while also understanding the broader business context
Business and Communication Skills
Strong stakeholder management skills; able to work with business users to gather requirements, clarify needs, and manage expectations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex technical or analytical concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience facilitating workshops, requirements-gathering sessions, or training for end users on reports and dashboards
Proven ability to work effectively across functions (e.g., IT, Data Engineering, Finance, Sales, Operations)

Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse)
Experience in a specific domain (e.g., CPG/beverage, retail, e-commerce, finance)
Experience documenting requirements and processes using tools such as GitHub (for version control and documentation)
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
Frequently required to walk and sit
Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds as needed
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
 
This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $81,120 - 101,400 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
