Project Manager / Project Engineer – Thermal Oxidizer Systems

Location: Kanjurmarg, Mumbai

Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Project Manager / Project Engineer to lead the execution of Thermal Oxidizer system projects from order to commissioning.

This role blends engineering depth, project execution, customer engagement, and commercial awareness. You will work closely with global teams, customers, and vendors to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget while ensuring compliance with safety and contractual standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical & Engineering Management

• Review customer specifications and align project scope with sales quotations.

• Develop and manage technical specifications for Thermal Oxidizer systems.

• Prepare RFQs, evaluate vendor technical bids, and finalize procurement packages.

• Review vendor drawings/data and ensure timely approvals.

• Act as the technical interface between customer, engineering, and execution teamss

2. Project Execution & Coordination

• Plan, monitor, and execute projects from kickoff to commissioning.

• Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, QA/QC, Drafting, R&D) and global offices.

• Manage project schedules using tools like MS Project/Primavera.

• Ensure timely vendor deliveries and site readiness.

• Maintain accurate project documentation (including ISO, HAZOP/SIL records).

3. Quality, Safety & Risk Management

• Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and contractual requirements.

• Identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks proactively.

• Participate in HAZOP/SIL studies and ensure safety compliance.

• Drive adherence to QA/QC processes and audit readiness.

4. Financial & Commercial Ownership

• Track project costs vs budgets and maintain profitability.

• Support invoicing, collections, and cash flow management.

• Identify opportunities to improve project margins and working capital.

• Manage scope changes and contractual deviations effectively.

5. Stakeholder & Customer Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners.

• Communicate technical updates clearly to stakeholders.

• Handle escalations, scope changes, and negotiations professionally.

• Collaborate with Zeeco global teams for seamless execution.

6. Team Collaboration & Leadership

• Work cross-functionally to ensure project success.

• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.

• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.

7. Additional Responsibilities

• Support sales and proposal teams with technical inputs.

• Travel domestically/internationally for project meetings and site visits.

• Take on additional responsibilities aligned with business needs.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or related field.

• 3–15 years of experience in Project Engineering / Project Management.

• Experience in Thermal Oxidizers, Combustion Systems, EPC, Oil & Gas, or Heavy Engineering preferred.

• Strong understanding of engineering design, codes, and standards.

• Experience with vendor management, procurement, and project execution.

• Familiarity with HAZOP, SIL, ISO standards, and QA/QC processes.

• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project/Primavera, and documentation tools.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
