Project Manager, Telecoms

Procept Associates Professional Services Limited (Procept Africa) is a franchisee of Procept Associates Ltd, Canada.  We specialize in consulting, training, and solutions, through a network of associates and partners, using best practice frameworks in Canada, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya and now Uganda.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the telecommunications industry to lead and deliver complex technology and network deployment programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in FTTH projects, AI-driven applications, Ericsson platforms, telecom charging systems, and related OSS/BSS environments.

This role will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, from planning, design, and site surveys to implementation, quality assurance, and final delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical specifications, timelines, and budgets. The candidate must be able to effectively coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors, while proactively identifying risks and ensuring the successful rollout of fiber infrastructure and telecom technology solutions.

• Lead end-to-end delivery of telecom projects and programs, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Manage multiple workstreams, coordinating cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Drive the implementation and integration of FTTH, telecom charging systems and related platforms, including Ericsson solutions.
• Identify and mitigate risks, proactively resolving issues to prevent project delays.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success metrics.
• Oversee AI-enabled initiatives within telecom projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry standards.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and dashboards.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to project teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and  organizational standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing large-scale telecom projects or programs. (Telecoms experience is mandatory).
• Demonstrated experience with Ericsson platforms and telecom charging systems.
• Proven knowledge of AI applications in telecom, digital transformation initiatives, or network automation.
• Strong understanding of telecom operations, networks, and business processes.
• Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, Prince2, or Agile Scrum Master is mandatory
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, complex environments and manage multiple priorities.
