World Wide Professional Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a large scale biopharma manufacturing expansion project in Hillsboro, Oregon. This role will support complex facility expansion and infrastructure work within an active pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The position requires strong leadership experience managing construction execution, contractor coordination, project controls, safety, quality, and schedule performance across highly regulated projects.
This is an onsite role in Hillsboro, Oregon. Candidates must be local or open to relocation.
The Project Manager will work closely with cross functional project teams including construction management, project controls, commissioning, startup, safety, engineering, and contractor partners to ensure successful project execution from design through turnover and closeout.
Previous experience supporting biopharma, pharmaceutical, life sciences, cleanroom, or advanced manufacturing construction projects strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead construction execution activities for capital projects within a regulated biopharma manufacturing environment.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, and trade partners to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery.
• Coordinate with project controls teams on schedule management, cost tracking, forecasting, contingency management, and reporting activities.
• Support project planning and execution using Lean Construction principles, pull planning, and collaborative delivery approaches.
• Review project schedules and identify opportunities to improve execution efficiency while maintaining quality and system integrity.
• Conduct field walkthroughs to verify construction progress, site readiness, safety compliance, and quality performance.
• Review and support contractor change orders, cost estimates, and scope alignment with project objectives.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to review construction deliverables, RFIs, submittals, and technical documentation.
• Support permitting activities and coordination with local jurisdictional requirements including building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection permits.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, site safety expectations, and applicable state and local codes.
• Support commissioning, startup, turnover, and closeout activities in partnership with commissioning and facilities teams.
• Reinforce clean construction practices and quality standards appropriate for pharmaceutical and controlled manufacturing environments.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, project planning sessions, and operational retrospectives to improve project delivery performance.
• Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, progress reporting, and communication with project stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years of construction management or project management experience supporting large scale industrial or regulated facility projects.
• Previous experience supporting biopharma, pharmaceutical, life sciences, cleanroom, or advanced manufacturing construction projects strongly preferred.
• Experience working within active operating facilities while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
• Strong understanding of construction execution, contractor coordination, field operations, and project controls.
• Experience supporting commissioning, qualification, startup, and turnover activities.
• Familiarity with GMP environments, clean construction practices, and regulated facility standards preferred.
• Ability to review drawings, specifications, schedules, cost reports, and contractor deliverables.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, process utilities, HVAC systems, and infrastructure coordination.
• Experience supporting pull planning, Lean Construction methods, and collaborative project delivery approaches preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, construction, operations, and owner stakeholder teams.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, and standard construction management software tools preferred.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
