The Society of American Foresters (SAF) is seeking a strategic and dynamic Project Manager to lead cross-sector coordination and partnership efforts associated with the Forests250 effort. This role will serve as a vital bridge between programs, stakeholders, and collaborators to ensure timely, consistent, and successful project delivery. The Project Manager will work alongside the CEO to engage key partners, including the USDA Forest Service, National Forest Foundation, and Arbor Day Foundation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in communications, stakeholder engagement, and project management, with a proven ability to build strong partner relationships.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Project Management:
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of web content, communications and outreach projects, event planning, and partner coordination associated with the Forests250 campaign
Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables, managing all aspects from initiation to completion
Build projects that align with organizational objectives, amplify brand messaging, and achieve measurable outcomes
Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
Stakeholder & Partnership Engagement:
Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with key partners, sponsors, vendors, and contractors
Facilitate regular communications with stakeholders to gather input, provide updates, and secure feedback
Vendor & Contractor Management:
Oversee vendor and contractor relationships, including contract negotiation, project scope, and quality assurance
Ensure deliverables meet brand guidelines and project specifications
Coordinate with team members and service providers to support digital campaigns, web, film, design projects, and event production
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with communications and events teams to develop integrated project strategies
Coordinate with content creators, designers, and digital teams to ensure consistent brand voice and visual identity
Act as a liaison to align project efforts with organizational campaigns and initiatives
Strategic Communications & Brand Management:
Ensure that all project activities and deliverables align with Forests250 goals and objectives
Monitor project outcomes and KPIs, using data-driven insights to inform future strategies and improvements.
Other:
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Job Specifications:
Proven ability to lead complex, multi-faceted projects from planning through execution and evaluation. Experience overseeing film, web, and marketing projects a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with varied stakeholders, including vendors and contractors.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with experience developing and executing brand-focused projects.
Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, digital marketers, and content creators.
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, particularly in project tracking, reporting, and grant compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, project management, forestry, natural resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, Monday.com), Microsoft and Google Suite, iMIS, and experience with digital communications tools (e.g., social media platforms, CMS, email marketing software).
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience, with a strong focus on communications, brand strategy, and stakeholder engagement.
Proven ability to lead complex, multi-faceted projects from planning through execution and evaluation. Experience overseeing film, web, and marketing projects a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including vendors and contractors.

Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, digital marketers, and content creators.
Demonstrated experience in writing grant proposals and managing grant-funded projects.
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, particularly in project tracking, reporting, and grant compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, project management, forestry, natural resources management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, Monday.com), Microsoft and Google Suite, iMIS, and experience with digital communications tools (e.g., social media platforms, CMS, email marketing software).
Preferred Education/Skills:
Five plus years of project management experience
Customer-facing experience, with focus on problem solving
Established relationships within the forest sector
Knowledge and passion for forests and natural resources
