The IT Infrastructure Project Manager is an integral member of the infrastructure delivery team responsible for managing building development projects of varying size and complexity. The role is responsible for designing and managing the delivery of IT infrastructure (cabling and communications room design and installation).

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Work with construction project teams to understand physical design requirements, including MDF/IDF quantity, location and layout. Design passive cabling infrastructure and coordinate with network engineers on network and WiFi Design.
• Creation of infrastructure design package using client design guidelines
• Complete design review with client ahead of work orders being placed
• Manage project delivery: coordinate with internal and external parties (General Contractors, cabling contractors, network engineers)
• Draft and issue project proposals, RFPs and preliminary schedules
• Attend site meetings, maintain meeting notes and delegate/track action items
• Update project management tools on a regular basis with project status, risks and issues
• Maintain project schedule/programme
• Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades
• Track general, data cabling and MEP contractors
• Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans and work hours
• Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team
• Ensure client’s needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner
• Create, track and review field inspection reports throughout the lifecycle of the project
• Maintain project documentation using agreed structured and approach
• Manage design changes and escalate to client as necessary
• Track & manage contemplated change notices and change orders
• Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close out documents are obtained
• Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and develop this attitude in others
• Keep other stakeholders informed about project status and issues that may impact successful project delivery

• Extensive experience and knowledge of infrastructure cabling and IDF/MDF equipment (racks, cable pathways, cooling)
• Extensive knowledge of server room requirements: physical space, cooling & power
• Basic Cisco, Juniper CLI knowledge
• Minimum 2 years of Project management experience in network infrastructure and construction field
• Comfortable directing delivery of IT infrastructure to agreed designs and timings
• Ability to take ownership of projects from initiation stage through to completion
• Experience of the building development/redevelopment industry
• Great communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
• Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent
• Relevant RCDD or CNET equivalent qualification
