We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment specializing in healthcare and institutional work.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with full ownership of project performance from preconstruction through closeout. You will manage field teams, maintain general contractor relationships, and drive delivery of large-scale projects on schedule and within budget. You will have strong internal support from estimating, BIM, and senior leadership — but direct accountability for outcomes rests with you.
Responsibilities
• Lead commercial electrical projects through every phase from preconstruction planning through final completion
• Manage field execution by coordinating electricians, foremen, subcontractors, and internal support teams
• Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction contract documents
• Oversee project schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost tracking with rigor and consistency
• Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure scope alignment from award through mobilization
• Partner with BIM teams to ensure design intent is accurately translated into field execution
• Monitor project profitability throughout the lifecycle, proactively identify risks, and implement timely solutions
• Maintain thorough, accurate project documentation and deliver clear reporting to internal leadership
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical project management
• Electrical contractor background required — GC-only or residential-only experience will not be considered
• Experience managing projects in the $3M–$15M+ range preferred
• Strong command of the full project lifecycle including scheduling, cost control, change order management, and field coordination
• Experience on healthcare, hospital, university, or institutional projects is a strong plus
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Accubid, or similar construction management tools preferred
• Proven ability to own and execute projects end-to-end with minimal oversight
