Job Overview
We’re hiring a Commercial Construction Project Manager with true GC or builder experience to lead full-scope commercial projects from pre-construction through closeout. This is a hands-on role requiring direct ownership of schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and job cost control across multiple trades.
This position is designed for professionals who have personally run complete commercial builds, not coordinators or specialty-trade-only managers.
What You'll Do
• Manage full commercial construction projects from preconstruction planning through final closeout
• Take direct ownership of project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and job cost performance
• Coordinate and manage multiple trades including structural, MEP, finishes, and site-related scopes
• Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to plan execution and sequencing
• Lead subcontractor procurement, contract execution, and performance management
• Monitor field progress, resolve issues, and drive projects to meet schedule and budget commitments
• Enforce safety standards, building codes, and quality requirements on all job sites
• Conduct preconstruction meetings, jobsite meetings, and inspections as required
• Serve as the primary point of accountability for project delivery and field execution
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Project Manager with a GC or Builder
• Demonstrated experience running entire commercial projects, not partial scopes
• Hands-on background managing multiple trades simultaneously
• Direct responsibility for schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and job cost tracking
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and codes
• Ability to read and fully interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Stable work history with clear timelines and long-term employment
• Local to North Carolina with a long-term career mindset
• Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
Benefits:
• Paid time off (PTO) and company holidays
• Long-term career opportunity with a stable commercial builder
• Direct ownership and autonomy over projects
• Supportive, professional construction team environment
