Job Title: Project Lead- SEA for Temporary Foreign Workers
Location: St. John’s, NL
Position Type: 1 full-time position until March 31, 2027
Closing date: Until Filled
Reporting to the Director of Resettlement and Settlement Services, the Project Lead - SEA will develop and implement outreach and education for Temporary Foreign Workers in Newfoundland and Labrador who may be at risk of, or survivors of exploitation and human trafficking
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct environmental scan and literature review
Develop and deliver outreach, education and information materials, including presentations, flyers, pamphlets and social media content
Establish and support an advisory committee to guide project delivery and community support
Collaborate with subject matter experts and those with lived experience
Develop and deliver individual and group workshops, using trauma informed approach
Supervise and mentor project assistant
Collaborate with Service Provider Organizations to develop enhanced awareness to meaningful services for newcomer survivors
Maintain accurate and up to date project data, for internal and funder reporting
Develop internal and funder reports, according to project requirements
Employ project management methodology; including maintained set project timelines
Support ongoing project evaluation
Qualifications and Experience:
Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work or Education, Master's Degree preferred
At least two years of professional experience in a similar role
In-depth knowledge related to newcomer experiences, immigration, inequality, exploitation and human trafficking
Knowledge of trauma and resilience informed service provision
Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity working with a diverse client group
Experience working with at-risk populations
Demonstrated ability to manage project plans and schedules
Ability to collaborate with provincial and community partners
Strong skills in building relationships
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Second language is an asset
Conditions of Employment:
Legal authorization to work in Canada
Flexible to work outside of core hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm)
Valid class 5 NL driver’s license and daily access to a personal vehicle is required
Ability to travel is required
Position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset
