The Junior Project Engineer in the Cost Segregation Department works closely with the Sales Team and clients to gather, analyze, and interpret the information necessary to produce a complete and accurate Cost Segregation Study in a timely manner. The role involves maintaining strong working relationships with clients and internal teams to ensure a positive experience throughout the project lifecycle. 
Responsibilities: 
• Gather and review information from clients and the Sales Team. 
• Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to collect project data. 
• Maintain regular communication to ensure client satisfaction. 
• Schedule property inspections and arrange travel within budget. 
• Conduct site inspections of the subject property. 
• Photograph building components to document property conditions. 
• Perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings and blueprints. 
• Prepare construction cost estimates and cost analyses. 
• Determine unit costs and assign appropriate tax class lives to property components. 
• Review construction invoices and cost documentation. 
• Prepare cost segregation analyses and capital asset valuations. 
• Input or compile take-off data into estimating software. 
• Prepare engineering and depreciation schedules. 
• Calculate depreciation expenses. 
• Write detailed property descriptions and reports. 
• Prepare pictorial documentation of building components. 
• Review project information for accuracy and completeness. 
• Track project expenses and timesheets. 
• Organize and save project files on the server. 
• Notify management when project milestones are reached. 
• Ensure project deadlines and goals are met. 
• Associate’s degree or equivalent technical education, or 5–7 years of related experience (or combination of both). 
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings. 
• Experience performing quantity take-offs from construction drawings. 
• Knowledge of asset classification and tax class lives. 
• Ability to determine project scope. 
• Ability to review depreciation schedules and cost documentation. 
• Knowledge of cost segregation principles. 
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills. 
• Highly organized with good time management. 
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence. 
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
