Ring & DuChateau is seeking a Plumbing Project Engineer to join our Plumbing team. Our firm is a 90+ person, collaborative MEP engineering team known for delivering innovative, high-quality design solutions across a variety of markets, including healthcare and other complex building systems.
In this role, you’ll contribute to high-performing project teams, support exceptional client service, and help develop efficient, cost-effective plumbing system designs. The successful candidate will:
Assume duties and responsibilities of project plumbing engineer/designer on projects where appropriate.
Prepare schematic design documents including basis of design narratives.
Develop plumbing design drawings utilizing Revit, and written specifications.
Perform required engineering design calculations.
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Communicate with all team members to understand and resolve project challenges that arise, and/or consult with more experienced engineers to gain a deeper understanding of alternative design strategies.
Perform construction administration duties including shop drawing submittal review, responding to RFIs, preparing construction bulletins, and project site observations.
Be responsible for coordinating and delegating work tasks to BIM technicians.
Attend project design meetings and be proficient in communicating the plumbing design to clients
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural engineering, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
5+ years of experience
Professional license (PE, Designer of Engineered Systems, or CPD) preferred
Experience in healthcare or State of Wisconsin (DFD) owned projects preferred
Experience working for Engineering Consulting Firm, A/E firm, or plumbing contractor
Working knowledge using Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, as well as Microsoft office Suite of products
Ability to organize and plan efficiently and manage multiple tasks.
