Our Company:
Abyss Solutions is reinventing industrial asset management both above and underwater for step-change improvement in asset life, maintenance cost, and reduction of failure risk. Think oil rigs, dam walls, ship hulls, any asset subject to deterioration in water and weather.
We do so utilize extremely sophisticated, unique (and patented) Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning software together with a deep understanding of our customers’ asset integrity needs and processes. Creating a 3D ‘digital twin’ of customer assets. Using drones and Abyss analytics is just the beginning, Abyss comprehensively classifies the ‘state’ of the asset to identify exactly what maintenance is required, providing precise direction.
Abyss is driving to fully automate the maintenance process, expanding applications and capabilities into other verticals.
About the role:
Abyss is looking for a Project Engineer to support our Oil & Gas projects globally. As a Project Engineer, your focus is on supporting Application Engineers with their customer initiatives and projects. These projects are focused on using Abyss Fabric™ data analytic products to enhance traditional inspection and maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for technology.
What You’ll Do:
Production & Work Pack Execution
Execute production workflows including work pack generation, data analysis, and deliverable preparation
Translate scoped requirements into structured, repeatable outputs
Engineering Validation & Quality Control
Review outputs from automated systems and validate against engineering standards
Ensure all deliverables meet internal quality thresholds before reaching the customer
Data Analysis & Interpretation
Analyze inspection and condition data to support engineering assessments
Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and edge cases that require further review
Operational Support to Application Engineers
Partner closely with Application Engineers to support scoped customer work
Prioritize and manage incoming requests to maintain delivery timelines
Act as the execution layer behind customer-facing activities
Documentation & Standardization
Maintain clear and structured documentation of outputs, methodologies, and assumptions
Contribute to improving repeatability and efficiency of delivery workflows
Throughput & Delivery Management
Manage multiple concurrent deliverables with a focus on timeliness and accuracy
Continuously identify ways to improve speed, quality, and scalability of production work
What This Role Is Not:
Not primarily customer-facing
Not responsible for owning client relationships or selling
Not focused on presentations or stakeholder management
This role is execution-first, enabling others to operate at a higher level.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or similar)
1–5 years of experience in engineering analysis, data processing, or technical delivery
Experience in oil & gas, inspection, or asset integrity is preferred
Core Skills:
Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
Ability to work through large datasets and structured workflows
Organized, process-driven, and comfortable with repeatable execution
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
Nice to Have:
Experience supporting client-facing engineering teams
Familiarity with inspection data, corrosion analysis, or condition assessment
Exposure to technical software platforms or digital workflows
