Project Engineer, Civil Construction

We are looking for a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to support civil and site development construction projects from planning through completion. This role is focused on problem solving, keeping projects organized, and ensuring work progresses on schedule. The position works closely with engineers, field teams, and subcontractors to coordinate execution and resolve issues in real time. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career who is progressing toward a Project Manager role within a civil construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of civil and site development construction projects from planning through completion
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project progress
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking to support overall project performance
• Review construction drawings, engineering plans, and specifications for accuracy and execution
• Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Participate in project meetings and communicate updates on progress, risks, and solutions
• Monitor field activities and proactively identify and resolve project challenges
• Work closely with leadership and field teams to develop practical solutions to construction issues
• Maintain organization across project documentation, timelines, and stakeholder communication

Requirements:
• 1–4 years of experience in construction project engineering, project coordination, or related roles
• Background in civil construction, site development, or infrastructure projects preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering strongly preferred
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the FE exam preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills working with engineers, subcontractors, and field teams
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
