We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Barcelona, Spain, with a strong focus on Animal Nutrition/Pet Care projects.
We are seeking an engineer with experience in industrial project management, ideally within pet food, animal nutrition, or similar process industries, to actively participate in a wide range of projects—from production improvements to large-scale industrial investments.
Projects may include multiple phases and specializations:
Strategic Consulting: project master planning, conceptual engineering
Project Feasibility: process definition (dry/wet pet food, extrusion, packaging), plant layout, scheduling, CAPEX estimation
Project Preparation: investment analysis, basic engineering, permitting, procurement strategy
Project Realization: project management, detailed engineering coordination, construction and commissioning management
The Project Engineer ensures the delivery of high-quality services to the client, within defined budget and timelines.
We are looking for an engineer experienced in:
Project documentation, cost control, and scheduling
Coordination of stakeholders (internal teams, contractors, production teams)
Construction supervision and commissioning activities
Full project lifecycle: from feasibility to execution and start-up
Industrial environments with strong process focus (production lines, automation, equipment integration)
Continuous improvement methodologies (TPM, Lean, Industry 4.0 initiatives)
Working in operational environments with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
Valuable experience:
Pet food / animal nutrition / food processing industry
Production lines (extrusion, mixing, drying, packaging, etc.)
Industry 4.0, digitalization, or automation projects
Mid-to-large CAPEX projects (>1M€)
Experience in commissioning and ramp-up phases
Requirements
Industrial Engineering (Production, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar)
3 to 6 years of experience in industrial project environments
Experience in process-driven industries (ideally pet care / food / FMCG)
Strong understanding of plant operations and production processes
Fluency in Spanish and English (C1 level required), French and Catalan is a Plus.
Knowledge of tools such as MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD, SAP
Driver License B
Hands-on, proactive, and results-oriented mindset
Strong communication and coordination skills
Full on-site position in Barcelona, with 60 or 80% national and international mobility depending on project needs
