We are recruiting a Project Director to join our Industrial & Manufacturing team and lead a €100M+ multi‑year capital programme for a global FMCG client. This role offers the opportunity to shape major strategic assets and work on hyperscale industrial projects within a collaborative and ambitious team.

Your mission: deliver a future‑ready facility offering sustainable cost advantage, operational resilience, strong ESG performance and advanced digital capability.

Your Key Responsibilities 

• Strategic Leadership:

You own the business case and CAPEX roadmap, support ExCom/Board decisions, and lead the masterplanning, technology and digital strategy for a future‑ready facility.

• Programme Delivery:

You steer multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, automation, digital, quality, HSE and operations, ensuring seamless delivery from design to commissioning and start‑up. You manage EPC/EPCm partners, OEMs and technology suppliers, applying strong programme controls to keep the project on track.

• Financial & Commercial Management:

You oversee a €100M+ CAPEX budget, define contracting strategies, lead major negotiations and drive value engineering to optimise lifecycle costs.

• Regulatory, Safety & Quality:

You ensure compliance with HSE, food safety, regulatory approvals and ESG commitments, while leading HAZOP/HAZID, design reviews, validation and audit readiness.

• Operational Readiness:

You design the future operating model, build and mobilise operational teams, and lead a structured vertical start‑up through SOPs, training and line qualification.

• Digital & Automation Enablement:

You integrate MES, automation, data, cybersecurity and ERP systems, embedding analytics and predictive maintenance to create a digitally enabled facility.

• Stakeholder Engagement:

You manage relationships with regulators, authorities, communities and sustainability partners, while leading communication and change management across the programme.

You have…

• 15+ years of experience leading large‑scale capital programmes (€50M–€200M+) in FMCG, food or similar process‑driven industries.
• Strong technical grounding in engineering design, construction, utilities, food‑safety systems, commissioning and validation.
• Proven expertise delivering EPC / EPCm programmes, managing complex contract strategies and multi‑vendor environments.
• A solid understanding of digital manufacturing platforms, including MES, automation, data and control systems

• A confident leader with executive presence, able to engage effectively at Board/ExCom level.
• Experienced in steering complex, multi‑year programmes in demanding environments.
• Skilled at managing diverse suppliers and stakeholders.
• Strong in building and mobilising operations teams for new industrial assets.

• Manage large CAPEX budgets with discipline and strategic insight.
• Lead high‑value contract negotiations and handle commercial risks.
• Apply strong programme controls to ensure delivery on time, on budget and on scope.
