Project Coordinator (ISET)
Full Time Term Position until March 31, 2029
Winnipeg or Thompson, MB
MKO is seeking a highly motivated individual that will perform the functions of Project Coordinator for the Indigenous Skills Employment & Training (ISETS). The successful candidate will facilitate and support the administration and development of ISET projects with our MKO First Nation Sub Agreement Holders (SAH). This position requires excellent analytical, financial reporting, planning, organizing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Role and Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and support to potential sub agreement holders/trainers/organizations, etc. in the development of their proposal, cashflow projections and budgets keeping in mind the training needs in the community(ies) that the training is being proposed for.
Responsible to develop and administer project management practices and techniques in the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and implementation of programming and project requirements.
Conduct the planning, coordination, administration, and implementation of assigned contract and project activities for program delivery.
Provide expertise in procurement and contract management. Assist in the development of the contract scope, procurement documents, including appropriate technical, safety, environmental, and quality specifications, while organizing assisting the community/trainer/institution in the execution of the project/contract (as required) and reviewing funding claims are in compliance with the Terms and Conditions of the ISET agreement.
Ensure the delivery of the project objectives once approved and implemented.
Serve as MKO representative on committees, working groups, planning tables and other stakeholders as related to project/program implementation/monitoring.
Other duties as required.
MKO is political advocacy organization that works to represent the leadership and member First Nations. All staff at MKO may be given other duties as assigned that enable MKO to fulfill the mandate and responsibility to its member communities.
Experience and Qualifications:
Candidates must have post-secondary degree, certificate or diploma in the Business Administration field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Proficient in MS Office applications: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, Outlook, Teams.
Experience in reconciling financial claims and reports.
Experience monitoring budgets and activities.
Knowledge of the guidelines and reporting requirements of the ISET Program.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving ability with a demonstrated commitment to deadlines, accountability, and details.
Valid Class 5F Drivers license; must be willing to travel to communities.
Knowledge of First Nations culture, language and understanding of the challenges faced by First Nations communities is essential.
Ability to speak a First Nation language is a definite asset.
Must be able to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and a satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check upon hiring.
Ability to comply with all MKO policies and procedures.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience
