• Provides estimates for each project phase: conceptual, schematic design, design development and construction documents
• Prepare detailed cost estimates via industry accepted methods such as RS Means for small and large projects. Estimates shall be provided in UNIFORMAT II and CSI formats, as well as other client specific formats. Ability to concentrate in one or more of the estimating. disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil and structural.
• Prepares or assists in the preparation of order-of-magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques
• Performs cost comparison analyses between in-house estimates and contractor estimates
• Works with Project Managers and other disciplines to evaluate the appropriateness of budgets
• Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for cost estimates
•  Prepares project and discipline estimate summaries Basis of Estimate
• Prepares detailed quantity take-offs on design and construction documents as required utilizing software such as BlueBeam CAD or Xtreme, CostX, On-Screen Take-off, etc.
• Provides technical assistance and advice in negotiating contracts and pricing change orders.
• Establishes and maintains cost databases and product line specific parametric analysis tools
• Leads the estimate reconciliation process with the project team
• Prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates, and analysis of subcontractor bids etc. for projects
• ·Maintains consistent and period communications with other estimators

Minimum  Requirements:

• Must have an understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences
• Demonstrated knowledge of RS Means,  NECA, and other industry standard cost estimating reference books.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to manage work requests on multiple projects at the same time
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to read and interpret contract requirements and to read engineering drawings
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, Requests-for Proposals and contracts
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
• Prior field project engineering experience in transportation, building, or energy projects
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to review project Update and Baseline Schedules in Primavera P6.
• Must be able to develop quantity takeoff quantities using the overlay method
