EnerMech is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Project Controller to provide end-to-end financial control across assigned projects. Working closely with Project Managers and Operations, this role is accountable for protecting and enhancing project gross profit, strengthening cash flow performance, and ensuring robust financial governance throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Description:
• Own the financial control of assigned projects from mobilisation through close-out
• Partner with Project Managers to secure and improve forecast gross profit and cash performance
• Provide clear visibility of project working capital including revenue recognition, WIP, AR, GRNI, and AP
• Ensure alignment between “As Bid” and “As Mobilised” forecasts, highlighting variances for approval
• Maintain accurate project cost, revenue, and margin forecasting (ETC/EAC, CAC)
• Support timely and accurate invoicing in line with contractual milestones
• Ensure compliance with IFRS 15, group accounting policies, and internal financial controls
• Review and approve project costs, POs, equipment hire, and expenses in line with forecasts and policy
• Monitor project financial performance versus budget and forecast, identifying variances and root causes
• Manage project job codes, WBS structures, and financial data integrity within Navision
• Oversee monthly close activities including accruals, revenue recognition, GRNI, and timesheets
• Prepare and issue project KPI, GP, and cash flow reporting packs
• Participate in project deep-dive reviews and business line performance reviews
• Support working capital management, collections prioritisation, and dispute resolution
• Coordinate with Shared Service Centre (SSC) teams to resolve accounting and reporting issues
• Support audits, gate reviews, and project financial close-out
Requirements:
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
• CA / CIMA (or equivalent) qualification
• Proven experience in a project finance or business partnering role
• Strong understanding of project accounting, cost control, and revenue recognition
• Experience working with integrated ERP systems (Navision preferred)
• Experience in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
• Exposure to organisational or operational change
• Strong stakeholder management skills across finance, operations, and project teams
• Advanced Excel skills
