Project-Based Interior Designer (Commercial Furnitures)

Role Summary

We are seeking a high-level Contract Interior Designer with proficiency in CET Designer (Configura). In this role, you will act as a remote design partner for a top-tier U.S.-based commercial furniture dealer representing world-leading brands (e.g., Haworth, Steelcase, Teknion, Kimball).

You will be responsible for transforming complex client requirements into high-fidelity 3D renderings, accurate specifications, and installation-ready drawings. This is a project-based contract ideal for a CET power-user who excels at space planning and technical precision within the commercial furniture industry.

Key Responsibilities

• CET Design & 3D Visualization: Execute detailed furniture layouts and high-end renderings using manufacturer-specific CET extensions.

• Technical Specification: Generate 100% accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and SIF files for order entry.

• Space Planning: Develop creative, code-compliant (ADA/Life Safety) workspace solutions based on architectural shells.

• Revision Management: Provide rapid-turnaround design edits based on client or sales feedback.

• Audit & Review: Perform self-audits on all drawings to ensure alignment with architectural grids and manufacturer price lists.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years in Contract Furniture design (Dealer/Manufacturer side).

• Software Mastery: Expert CET Designer skills (Haworth, Steelcase, etc.) are non-negotiable; AutoCAD/CAP/Giza is a plus.

• Technical Accuracy: Proven ability to generate 100% accurate BOMs/SIF files and code-compliant layouts (ADA/Electrical).

• Visual Excellence: Must produce high-fidelity 3D renderings and professional drawing sets.

• Contractor Mindset: Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to hit tight U.S. deadlines independently.

Part-Time Opportunity

• Engagement: Independent Contractor.

• Volume: Estimated at least 20 hours per week (project-dependent).

• Time Zone: Must have availability with the U.S. Business Hours for brief syncs.

• Tools: Contractor must provide their own workstation capable of high-spec CET rendering and a stable, high-speed internet connection.
