Burgess Civil is growing, and we’re looking for an entry‑level Project Accountant to support our project teams and help keep our financial operations running smoothly. What You’ll Do
Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for construction projects
Support project billing, including gathering backup, assembling pay apps, and tracking approvals
Assist with subcontractor compliance (COIs, W-9s, lien waivers, etc.)
Collect and track lien releases from subcontractors and vendors
Coordinate payment collections with clients and internal teams
Provide project-specific accounting support to Project Managers
Communicate professionally with PMs, subcontractors, and vendors
Help maintain accurate project files and documentation
Jump in and assist with other accounting tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
Accounting (or similar) degree
Strong Excel skills (sorting, filtering, formulas, pivots, etc.)
Highly detail-oriented and organized
Strong communicator — comfortable working with PMs, vendors, and subcontractors
Quick learner with the ability to pick things up fast
Customer‑service mindset and team-first attitude
Must be willing to learn!
Bonus Skills (Not Required):
Experience in construction accounting
Familiarity with Foundation Software
Exposure to construction documents (COIs, pay apps, lien releases)
