Programme Lead – Bachelor of Sustainable Fashion Design
Reports to Programme Head Fashion
Fixed term to 11 December 2026.

We are pleased to invite internal applications for the role of Programme Leader for the Bachelor of Sustainable Fashion Design commencing April 2026.
This position provides an exciting opportunity to lead and support the continued development of the programme, with a focus on advancing teaching excellence, upholding academic standards, and driving continuous improvement in programme delivery. The Programme Leader will play a key role in shaping curriculum content and ensuring its ongoing alignment with current and emerging industry needs.
This role is central to fostering a high-quality learning environment, supporting staff development, and contributing to the strategic direction and success of the programme.
Academic Leadership
Provide leadership and operational management for the Bachelor of Sustainable Fashion Design programme
Provide first point of contact for resolving faculty queries or concerns, resolving or making recommendations when escalating.
Teach and role model high quality teaching practices
Support the implementation of peer observations, support PD and provide mentorship to lecturers
Programme Management and Development
Maintain partnerships, undertake industry consultation and network with alumni to identify emerging educational needs
Contribute to programme design and ongoing curriculum development supporting student employability
Lead facilitation of key programme components and specialised courses
Contribute to programme review processes including APER’s and Degree Monitoring.
Oversee student assessment strategies ensuring consistency across courses
Monitor programme performance metrics and develop improvement plans
Work with Academic Planning Lead and Programme Head to schedule, coordinate and manage programme resources, timetables and budgets
Collaborate with other academic departments, support services, marketing and registry
Ensure the programme is appropriately represented at open days, recruitment events, and graduation ceremonies
Qualifications and Knowledge
Postgraduate degree (Master's)
Demonstrated subject matter expertise over at least 3 years of teaching on the BSFD programme
Good understanding of higher education quality frameworks and processes
Knowledge of contemporary teaching and learning approaches
Understanding of assessment design principles and practices
Awareness of current industry trends and professional standards in Fashion
Leadership and Personal Attributes
Leadership skills with ability to inspire and motivate lecturers
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical and planning capabilities
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Commitment to educational excellence and student success
Collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders across academic and industry groups
