JOB OVERVIEW
Are you a dynamic leader with diverse skillsets in nonprofit program management and/or disaster response and recovery? Footprint Project is seeking a Program Manager - Caribbean to join our growing team! With support from our HQ leadership and regional staff and partners, help us build, implement, and grow our nascent Caribbean programs with a focus on Puerto Rico and Jamaica (Hurricane Melissa recovery). Footprint Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit disaster service organization headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana. We develop and deploy sustainable response technologies to community resilience centers after climate disasters in the U.S. Footprint Project works across the disaster management cycle to expand frontline access to mobile microgrids and reduce fossil fuel use. JOB DETAILS

Job Type: Full-time exempt (W2) if based in Louisiana. Applicants based outside of Louisiana will be considered for a 1099 contractor position with a revised, deliverables-focused contract.

Workplace Policy: Hybrid or Remote, depending on location

Location: Gulf Coast or Caribbean-based (Louisiana, Puerto Rico, or Jamaica preferred). Applicants based outside of Louisiana will be considered for a position revised within a deliverables-focused contract.

Schedule: Monday-Friday within the hours of 8am to 6pm local time for a total of approximately 40 hours/week

Travel: Approximately 25% depending on your location

Compensation: $55,000/year salary if based in Louisiana. For applicants based outside of Louisiana, our contract rates are benchmarked against local market standards for independent consultants. The final rate offered will be based on the contractor’s primary location, level of experience, specialized expertise, and complexity of the deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years experience in nonprofit program management, disaster service coordination, renewable energy, or a related field.

College Degree (Associates or Bachelors) or significant work experience. 

Demonstrated experience leading diverse coalitions or community partnerships.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Familiarity with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).

No solar technical knowledge required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Spanish - bilingual or fluent

Background in renewable energy (technology, policy, or just a big fan of it)

Salesforce CRM experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Management

Serve as primary manager for Footprint Project’s Caribbean Region disaster response, recovery, and resilience programs.

With support from local and HQ staff, build and maintain strong relationships with community-based organizations, local governments, workforce partners, and vendors.

Generate and implement ideas for systems, programs, and operational improvement.

Fill gaps: support team members on administrative and organizational tasks.

Renewable Tech Deployment

Facilitate site intake, assessment, and prioritization for resilience hubs.

Coordinate mobile solar generator logistics, mobilization and demobilization.

Support vendor contracting, site inspections, and quality control.

Coordinate with HQ and local logistical support staff on equipment management and deliveries.

Training & Capacity Building

With support from Footprint HQ staff, organize “Build Power” workshops and community trainings for first responders, peer-to-peer responders, and resilience hub staff as needed/requested.

Ensure local end-users are trained on operation and maintenance of both stationary and mobile systems.

Integrate local labor and workforce development partners into project activities.

Reporting & Compliance

With support from Footprint HQ staff, track deployments, user agreements, usage metrics, and community impacts.

Provide administrative data entry and maintenance of inventory, contacts, and more in our CRM database

Provide monthly reports and quarterly evaluations in line with grant and/or contract requirements.
