BGC Okanagan is hiring a temporary, full-time Program Coordinator for our Youth Drop-In Program at the Westside Youth Centre.

The Youth Drop-In Program supports young people by providing a fun, safe environment, meeting basic needs, and offering engaging activities. This temporary position runs from June 1, 2026, to July 6, 2027, or until the return of the incumbent.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned program. Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates plans and programs designed to ensure that the needs of youth and families are met.

Ensures that program standards, guidelines and policies of BGCO are maintained and that all requirements are met.

Assists with the recruitment of program staff and volunteers including conducting interviews, selection, hiring, and orientation.

Authority for the day-to-day direction, performance feedback of program staff and volunteers. Addresses staff workplace issues and assists in resolving workplace disputes.

Ensures that accurate program and client records are maintained and that confidentiality is a priority.

Responsible for the co-ordination of quality and diverse programming. Works closely with the Manager on program development, procedures, and evaluations.

Manages program budgets.

Ensures effective communication with staff and participants.

Qualifications:

Three (3) years recent related experience including one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Diploma in a related human/ social service field.

First Aid certification and Food Safe certification or willingness to obtain

Class 4 Driver's Licence

Successful completion of the Agency screening process, including criminal record check

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 1:00pm-8:00pm

Wage: $26.19 per hour
